Place an Order with Us
Please review the following steps to efficiently request a quote and place an order. Our Terms & Conditions follow at the bottom of the page.
1. Request a quote via email wholesale@elhannon.com for requests containing more than 5 items and attach a list in Microsoft Excel format. Be sure to include the following information:
Size, quantity, and any notes for each species.
Request delivery or pick-up and anticipated date.
Purchase order number and/or project name.
Individual point of contact and company name.
2. We will reply to your email with a quote. Please note the following when selecting the plant material and proceeding to the next step:
If any request for quote contains material which we cannot exactly match, we will provide as close a substitute as possible for plant material sizes, quantities, and species.
Quoted prices are only good for the year in which delivery is anticipated. For instance, a quote with anticipated delivery of spring 2021 is only good through the end of calendar year 2021.
We reserve the right to not dig certain species for survivability based on seasonal or environmental concerns. An example is that white birch, and certain others are fall digging hazards and will be dug in the spring. Certain species may be dug in the summer for an additional fee.
Many of our trees are machine-dug. We may hand-dig certain trees based on survivability or size, but customers may request hand-digging or square/rectangular root balls for an additional fee.

3. After you have selected your plants from the quote and when you would like to receive the plant material, we will send you a confirmation. Your order will have been successfully submitted when we either 1- receive the dig deposit or 2- you receive confirmation from us that a dig deposit is not required.
Dig deposits may be required before an order is filled.
We will dig in the season that best maximizes plant health before the anticipated delivery date. Please keep us updated regarding the status of your project and any delays to anticipated delivery. Plant material not delivered near the anticipated date may be subject to additional maintenance fees.
Plant material left undelivered for long periods of time without communication or maintenance payments may be subject to forfeiture.
4. Anticipating your delivery:
Be prepared in advance if any permitting or special circumstances exist regarding the offloading area. Notify us of any unusual circumstances so that our driver may be prepared.
Ensure you have large enough offloading equipment to safely unload with proper techniques. We are not responsible for trees damaged during unloading. Always handle tree by the root ball and contact us if you have any questions.
Return all Elhannon equipment used to secure and tarp the trailer to the driver.
Immediately water plants.

4. Picking-up your trees
Have an appropriate-sized truck, trailer, and/or unloading equipment. If you are unsure of any of these, ask us before you intend to depart.
We will load and tarp your truck and/or trailer. Bring adequate tarps and cargo straps for your order. We cannot loan our equipment or guarantee plant health at destination if improper equipment is used.
Immediately water plants upon unloading.
Terms & Conditions
Pricing and Availability: The price and availability of material may change without notice. Prices in this catalog are not final. After placing an order Elhannon Wholesale Nursery Inc (EWN) will send a confirmation with the final price.
Tagging: Please schedule an appointment with us if you wish to visit our nursery to tag material. Customers declining to tag material, or for select customers approving material via EWN photograph, accept the selection by EWN staff and cannot reject plant material at delivery based on shape or form.
Placing Orders: Orders may be placed any time of the year via email, phone, or in-person at our office. Orders are filled according to digging season, weather conditions, or other natural events. See details under Summer Digging Surcharge for more information regarding digging plant material out of season.
Cancellations: All cancellations must be made in writing and received prior to the scheduled digging date. Cancellations will not be accepted after the material has been dug. Customers will be responsible for full payment once material is dug.
Digging Surcharges: Summer- A surcharge of 25% will be added to the cost of material that is dug during the summer. Summer digging is done at the client’s risk. Some species cannot be summer dug. We reserve the right to refuse to dig if we feel weather conditions would be detrimental to the health of the plant. Hand Digging- is done by request only and incurs a 20% additional fee.
Deposit: A 50% deposit is due prior to digging an order. Credit may be extended to parties with an established client history. If EWN begins work on a confirmed order, your deposit may be forfeited.
Payment Terms: The balance of an order is due at time of shipment. Overdue accounts will be charged interest at a rate of 2% per month, 24% per annum. Returned checks will result in a $50 service charge. No third party or post-dated checks will be accepted. All disputes shall be resolved in the New York State Supreme Court, county of Rensselaer.
Sales Tax: Applicable state sales tax will be charged unless the client has provided the required tax exemption certificate at the time of the transactions.
Product Delivery: Delivery service is available for a fee that is dependent on the current market rate of diesel fuel at the time of order. Please schedule all pick-ups or deliveries with our office after your order has been confirmed.
Product Storage: We offer the ability to store above-ground material prior to shipment date at a cost of 20% of the plant’s value, per month. We reserve the right to discontinue holding material for orders with a paid deposit after 1 year if the material remains unclaimed. Deposits will not be refunded if the order has not been cancelled or if the material remains unclaimed.
Warranty: EWN exercises great care in labeling all material true to size and name. There is no warranty expressed or implied as to the merchantability or fitness for any particular use of our nursery stock.
Claims: All claims must be made within 10 days of pick-up or delivery. Failure to properly handle or maintain live plant material is not cause for a claim.
